#10 Ok I figured out an easier way to break into the hashes. I dumped the.md5 file as a text file, have a python program do a brute force on the md5. In 29 minutes my just brute forcing the file and getting the passwords became very slow, so I wrote a bash script to do all the loading from another machine. I’m not sure what would happen if I ran this on my computer (I’m not sure I should run it on my computer, since I don’t know if I’m going to get any more MD5s in the future), but the point is I don’t know what happens if you run this on your computer. If I were you, I would do this…only on a dedicated computer. I can’t think of any possibilities to what could happen with a program like this doing 30 to 50 trillion MD5 hashes on my PC, but if I were to do this, I would back up my files and do it on a different computer with different files and only do it again if it grinds down and my computer is suddenly non-responsive.

#17 Are these the passwords after you stripped out only lower case letters from the zipped up file? I figure if they were all upper case, you wouldnt be able to crack them anymore (by brute force). The answer is most of them are still words. These are the mostly of the passwords I cracked:
